Some simple precautions to keep away from the souring heat
of summer season.
* Exercise: Do
regular exercise for 20 to 30 minutes to keep your metabolism healthy.
* Avoid Sunlight:
keep your schedule according to temperature like morning or evening. Take
advantage of the cooler temperature.
* Take it easy:
Swimming or walking instead of jogging. Take breaks and quit early.
* Don’t work out in
extreme heat and humidity. Take a day off if possible.
* Drink plenty of
water: Drink 150ml to 200ml of cool water. Drink water even if you don’t
feel thirsty.
* Listen to your body:
if you feel fatigue, weakness, confusion, lightheadedness, nausea, hard
breathing, and chest discomfort, these are all signs of trouble.
* Diet: maintain your
balance diet and good hygienic food.
* Drink natural
drinks: drink like nimbu pani (lemon water), narial pani(coconut water),
curd.
Note: Avoid
drinking cold drinks, ice creams and ice cold beers. These coolers can only
give you temporary relief from the heat but they affect your body’s natural
cooling system.
* Avoid alcohol.
It contains high calories.
* Take water soluble
vitamins: take vitamins B (wheat, flakes, wheat chapatti), C (Amla, citrus
fruit), and Zinc (fish, sea foods).
* Breakfast: take
only AB complex rich breakfast. It keeps you energetic all day long.
* Take fruits and
green leafy vegetables.
* Non-vegetarians:
for non-vegetarians chicken and vegetables or fish and vegetables.
Note: fish is
better than chicken. Limit red meat.
* Keep total calories down to 1800(woman), 2200-2500(man).
