Household simple remedies



                       
 

* Biscuits kept in the open become soft. To make them crisp again put them back in the original wrapping and place in the refrigerator.

* To keep flies out of the kitchen put a few drops of citronella oil in a dish and place it near an open window.

* You will get more juice more easily from a lemon if you keep it in hot water for a minute before cutting it.

* Insert a toothpick in cake or idli to test if it is ready. If it comes out clean the cake/idli is ready.

* When you cut fruits especially bananas and apples for fruit salad, you can keep the fruit slices from becoming brownish by squeezing a little lemon juice on them.

* To avoid tears while cutting onions, keep the onions in a bowl of chilled water for ten to fifteen minutes before cutting them.

* While ironing, if you have to sprinkle water on the clothes, use warm water. It will evaporate faster.

* Dip the ice-cream spoon which you get with the ice-cream cup into water before starting to eat the ice-cream. The ice-cream will not stick to the spoon.

Baldness and Hair Loss





* Prepare a paste by mixing together 2 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder and 2-3 tablespoon olive oil and apply it on the bald patches. Leave for 15-20 minutes and then wash thoroughly.

* Take curd and camphor lotion in equal proportions, mix well and keep aside for some time. Apply this paste on the bald areas and wash with lukewarm water after 2-3 hours.
* Prepare a shampoo by boiling 200 grams of amla, shikakai and reetha in 2-3 litre of water. Boil it until the water reduces to half. Let it cool and then work it into your hair. Wash with warm water after 2-3 hours.

* Grind fenugreek seeds with a little water to a fine paste. Oil your hair and then gently massage this paste on your scalp. Wrap your hair with a towel and wash after 1 hour.

* Apply henna on your scalp and wash your hair after an hour. Repeat this process once every 15 days.
 
* Mix together 100 grms and about 1 grm black pepper and apply it on your scalp. Leave for an hour and then shampoo as usual.

* Apply castor oil on the scalp and the roots and tie your hair with a cloth. Leave it overnight and shampoo the next morning.

* Crush coconut shavings and squeeze out its milk. Massage your scalp with this coconut milk and wash with warm water after 35-40 minutes.

* Boil some henna leaves in mustard oil, strain and let it cool. Massage this oil on your scalp and roots and leave overnight. Shampoo next morning as usual.

* Massage the bald patches with onion in the morning and evening till it is red. Follow it up rubbing honey on the patches and wash thoroughly after 15 minutes.

* Prepare amla oil by boiling dry amla pieces in coconut oil. Strain and let it cool down. Apply this oil on your scalp and leave overnight. Shampoo next morning as usual.
