Protection from souring Heat

Some simple precautions to keep away from the souring heat of summer season.

* Exercise: Do regular exercise for 20 to 30 minutes to keep your metabolism healthy.

* Avoid Sunlight: keep your schedule according to temperature like morning or evening. Take advantage of the cooler temperature.

* Take it easy: Swimming or walking instead of jogging. Take breaks and quit early.

* Don’t work out in extreme heat and humidity. Take a day off if possible.

* Drink plenty of water: Drink 150ml to 200ml of cool water. Drink water even if you don’t feel thirsty.

* Listen to your body: if you feel fatigue, weakness, confusion, lightheadedness, nausea, hard breathing, and chest discomfort, these are all signs of trouble.

* Diet: maintain your balance diet and good hygienic food.

* Drink natural drinks: drink like nimbu pani (lemon water), narial pani(coconut water), curd.

Note: Avoid drinking cold drinks, ice creams and ice cold beers. These coolers can only give you temporary relief from the heat but they affect your body’s natural cooling system.

* Avoid alcohol. It contains high calories.

* Take water soluble vitamins: take vitamins B (wheat, flakes, wheat chapatti), C (Amla, citrus fruit), and Zinc (fish, sea foods).

* Breakfast: take only AB complex rich breakfast. It keeps you energetic all day long.

* Take fruits and green leafy vegetables.

* Non-vegetarians: for non-vegetarians chicken and vegetables or fish and vegetables.

Note: fish is better than chicken. Limit red meat.

* Keep total calories down to 1800(woman), 2200-2500(man).
