                                                             Good pin-cushion

A piece of new soap serves as a good pin-cushion and also as holder for sewing needles. Further the pins and needles do not rust easily.

Put a knitting needle into the soil

To find out whether plants need water put a knitting needle into the soil. If mud does not stick when the needle is removed, pour water immediately.

                                                             For removing a rusty screw

For removing a rusty screw apply a few drops of vinegar. Leave it to penetrate for a few minutes. Then use a screwdriver.

                                                             Sagging cane bottomed chairs

To restore sagging cane bottomed chairs, wash them thoroughly with hot water and dry them in the sun. They will shrink tight.

Glass tumblers firmly fixed inside each other

When two glass tumblers become firmly fixed inside each other, it is difficult to separate them. Pour cold water into the inner glass, and then let them stand in warm water. As a result, the inner glass contracts and the outer glass expand. So the two tumblers are easily separated.
