Our Kidney
Our bodies produce many
substances that would quickly kill us if we did not have an efficient way of
getting rid of them. It is our kidneys that filter out all these unwanted
substances and pass them out in our urine.
Kidney stones occur when
urine is too concentrated-calcium salts, uric acid and like simply crystallize
out. The stones may be tiny and pass of the outside without us even being aware
of them. In extreme cases, stones may grow as large as a grapefruit. These big
ones require surgery.
